Meet Ngozi Nd Alichi the bold initiator of Nigeria of My Dream Initiative

Ngozi Nd Alichi is a graduate of English Language & Literature and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Public Administration. She is currently concluding a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management.

HOW DID YOU CONCEIVE THIS PROGRAMME AND WHAT DID YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE?
The Nigeria of My Dream Schools' Competition and Events started in 2012.

In the course of running our weekly TV program for more than nine years, we noticed that there was a  lacuna that needed to be filled and it relates to morals of young children; especially as we had the opportunity to work closely with so many schools.

We hope really to create a sense of ownership of our dear country Nigeria and who will also be committed to her good.

I love the Nigeria of between 1975-1981,when back in school in Pankshin Plateau State, friendship was pure and did not know ethnic or religious biases I saw Ramatu, Danlami, Anthonia, Dorcas etc through one uniform spectacle devoid of biases.

WHAT ARE THE THEMES OF THE PREVIOUS EDITIONS?
In the past we have had the schools deliver the theme...the Nigeria of My Dream, The Manifesto:, How can I can make Nigeria Great, and My Nigeria ,My pride, the past, the present and the future... That was the theme as we celebrated our Nation's centenary.

WHAT IS THE THEME OF THIS YEAR’S EDITION?
This year the theme is Agriculture: NEW Thinking, Way Forward."

YOUR HUSBAND HAS ALWAYS BEEN PRESENT IN YOUR PROGRAMMES. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT?
My husband is has indeed been quite supportive especially as the Chairman our organization. It is a huge source of inspiration to know that your spouse is a part of your project.

HOW MANY SCHOOLS HAVE PARTICIPATED SO FAR?
So far we have had over 50 schools participate in the competition, both as participating school and as Guests.

WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR CHALLENGES IN HOSTING THIS PROGRAMME AND HOW DO YOU HOPE TO OVERCOME THEM?
The major challenge has been the question of Sponsorship....driving each edition of the competition has been quiet challenging.. but with resilience of the support of the project Team ...each Season of the competition remains so memorable!! Season 4 is on 2 June, 2016 at Nigeria National Merit House in Maitama Abuja.

Attendance is open to all!
